The travel readiness checklist is provided to help you prepare for the
forthcoming trip This is a suggested common list of items, which you will
have to be personalized to your needs
A Passport with a validity of 6 months minimum or valid
throughout the duration of your assignment
Check your Air tickets (confirm the details on ticket are proper,
check number of leaves in the ticket)
Check Visa details (e g type of visa, validity, single entry or multiple
entry, date printed)
Medical Insurance Copies to be carried and retained throughout the
journey Carry medical certificates
Carry multiple Photocopies of passport and tickets, and keep them in
your hand baggage as well as in your checked-in baggage
Mail your itinerary to the concerned contact for proper
coordination regarding transport and accommodation
Do not forget to carry extra passport color photographs with you
Clothes to Take: In Chinese business culture, conservative suits and
ties in subdued colours are the norm Bright colours of any kind are
considered inappropriate Women should wear conservative suits or
dresses; a blouse or any other kind of top should have a high
neckline Stick with subdued, neutral, colours such as beige and
brown Because of the emphasis on conservatism, a modest dress
code in Chinese business culture is called for Flat shoes or very low
heels are the main footwear options for women
Medical Kit: Carry basic and essential medicines for headache,
cough, cold, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea Vicks, painkillers, Iodex,
Gummex, pain killing gels and cold creams must also be carried
along Do not forget to pack some first-aid items such as cotton,
antiseptic lotion & Band-Aid strips Take sufficient stock of
medicines for common aliments and those required specifically by
you along with your doctors prescription
Grooming Kit: Include some shoe polish in your luggage Keep one
/two extra pairs of spectacles if you wear one Slippers to wear in
the house especially in winter and all your toiletries (ideally in your
hand luggage)
Baggage Details: Carrying excess baggage is very expensive Please
avoid this & follow the baggage limits listed below:
Check-in baggage: 20 kgs and not to exceed 2 bags
Hand baggage: not to exceed 5 kgs
